Apple is launching three new iPhones today in an event that has already become iconic for the tech industry.

iPhone launches have a 12-year tradition, marking this year as the 13th iPhone iteration. What started with Steve Jobs presenting a revolutionary device that promised to forever change the face of technology, the iPhone has become one of the most emblematic experiences in the world.

If we think in terms of analytics, the customer journey for Apple users begins at the keynote event. You are introduced to a world of possibilities, technology, and technical improvements. These are all are made to look easy, natural, and a logical next step in the tech-evolution pattern, with some solutions backed by thousands of hours of work from engineers and software developers.

By leveraging data and a brilliant marketing strategy, Apple managed to find its place at the top of the Fortune 50 chart. Apple is currently the second most valuable company in the world, with a market capitalization of $961 billion, topped only by Microsoft, which has a market cap of $1.03 trillion.

There’s always a lot of pressure on Apple before an iPhone launch event. Investors are waiting to see how the market will respond to the new technologies announced by the company, if the sales will hit their targets, and, most importantly, if the company’s wizards manage to keep their users under the Apple spell. So far, they have not disappointed.

If we take a look at the data, we can clearly see why Apple’s pressure is soaring.

iPhone sales represent close to 50% of Apple’s total revenue. Even if the tech giant managed to reduce this percentage over time, by diversifying their product offerings and expanding to new areas of growth, 50% still remains a large number.

Not surprisingly, the bulk of iPhone sales is recorded in the first quarter after a launch event.

Apple is expected to announce three new phone models, replacing the iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR with iPhone 11, 11 Max/11 Pro, and 11R.

In addition to the new iPhones, Apple will launch the new iOS 13 and a bunch of new features and products.
