Data Streams, one of our two free products, got an important update today: analysts, BI practitioners, and marketers can now migrate analytics and marketing data to Snowflake, Teradata, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server, in addition to existing data warehouses such as Amazon Redshift, MySQL and Google BigQuery. This came as a request from analysts, BI practitioners, and marketers around the globe, to help them better focus on generating transformational insights as we ease the pain of data migration.

To our knowledge, this is the only free solution to get cloud analytics and marketing data to Snowflake, Teradata, Postgres and MS SQL Server and we’re excited to be able to offer it. We faced the same challenges and time-consuming processes as you have when working with large datasets, since we ourselves are analysts. That’s why we developed our products and their features thinking of how we can make not only our life easier, but also improve the life of the entire analytics community.

Here’s an example of data migration from Adobe Analytics to Snowflake, using Data Streams:

What is Data Streams by Cognetik?

Data Streams is part of our suite of free web data connector products designed to be accessible and quick to set-up. Alongside the Cognetik Cloud Connector for Tableau, they empower analysts, BI practitioners, and marketers to import or migrate analytics and marketing data such as Adobe Analytics, Facebook Pages, Facebook Ads, Google AdWords, Bing Ads, Kochava, Youtube, Doubleclick, to their preferred data warehouse or BI tool. This comes in a few easy steps, without needing assistance from the IT department or programming skills.

With Data Streams, after you have finished importing your data to your Data Warehouse of choice, you can analyze it according to your needs, or build powerful visualizations using a Business Intelligence tool of your choice, such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, QlikView etc.

Data Streams is not only easy to set-up and use, it’s also easy to maintain. One feature our users enjoy about the product is the ability to “Set it and forget it”, meaning that you can schedule recurring transfers and it will automatically migrate your data following your desired timetable. Set the time, day and cadence as you like: every morning, evening or Sunday at 2:37 PM. It’s your choice completely.

A neat feature is that you can preview your data before you submit it, to make sure it looks good and you’ll get the desired outcome.

Unique features only Data Streams offers

Before Data Streams, in order to freely import data into Snowflake (and other Data warehouses such as  Teradata, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, MySQL and Google BigQuery) you would need support from your IT department. But with Data Streams, any analyst or marketer can import his data without the need of additional support. It’s that simple to set-up and use.

There are also some added benefits in using data streams to import your cloud data, unique features that allow analysts to be as thorough and specific about their data analysis as they want: you can choose between three types of calendars, you can set your stream to be either one-time only or recurring. You can also apply segments to the data you import and preview the results before submitting the data into your preferred database.

For example, Google Analytics uses the Gregorian calendar, but by importing the data through our connector, you are given the option to select data according to different calendars, such as the Retail Calendar or even a Custom Calendar, to better suit your business and analysis requirements.

How to use our Data Streams connector

You can set-up Data Streams and benefit from all its features with just 3 easy steps:

  1. Set data extract source and your data destination. Basically, From – To.
  2. Customize according to your needs: schedule, filters, segments of your choosing.
  3. Simply add metrics and dimensions to analyze data the way you want.

We made it our mission to drive the analytics industry forward and to help fellow practitioners to set themselves free from time-consuming repetitive tasks and focus their energy, drive and schedule towards creating value for their companies by generating game-changing insights.
